My second letter to the Church,
I urge you to grasp the freedom you’ve been given through faith in Jesus. Legalism, with its rules and regulations, is a slippery slope that can lead you away from the true message of grace.
You see, trying to earn your salvation through the law is like trying to fill a bucket with holes. It’s a never-ending struggle, and it distracts you from the core of our faith – God’s love and His unmerited favor.
Embracing legalism means burdening yourself with a heavy yoke of rules and rituals, thinking that by following them, you will be closer to God. But this is a dangerous misunderstanding. It diminishes the significance of Christ’s sacrifice, implying that His grace is insufficient.
Don’t be deceived. The danger of legalism is that it shifts your focus from God’s love to human efforts. Instead, live in the freedom of God’s grace. It’s not about what you do but what Christ has done for you. Walk by the Spirit, and you will fulfill the law by the transformation of your heart through love and faith.
In Christ, you are free. Embrace this freedom, and do not return to the entanglement of legalism. For in love, we fulfill the whole law, and it’s by faith, not by works, that we are made righteous.
Grace to you,
